It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. But for some, the holidays can be a difficult time. This is especially true for those struggling with addiction, who may be facing the challenges of recovery during this time of year. But what do pillows have to do with hope?
Well, Priscilla, one of our valued customers, recently shared a heartwarming story about how she uses our pillows to bring comfort to the men in Recovered and Free (RAF) a local Christian alcohol and drug treatment center in Hubbard, Texas. She purchased a case of pillows from HonestMed to include as Christmas presents for the residents. However, she didn’t stop there. With the help of her friend, Jane, she added a caring personal touch to the gifts by creating handmade pillow shams. Jane cut the fabric in preparation to sew the shams. Priscilla shared in her review,
‘I prayed over each one that God would use them to bring comfort to the men as they learn to lean on Him for their strength, Thank you for providing these wonderful pillows at such a reasonable price. Merry Christmas!’
This generous act of kindness from Priscilla deeply touched us. It’s a powerful reminder that we can all use our unique talents to share something meaningful with others. While HonestMed provides comfortable and affordable pillows, Priscilla’s true talent lies in her compassionate spirit and her desire to contribute to the well-being of others.
We’re grateful to Priscilla for sharing her story and for using our products to spread joy and comfort during the holiday season.
How can you spread holiday cheer?
- Consider donating to a local charity that supports those in need.
- Volunteer your time at a local shelter or soup kitchen.
- Spread kindness and compassion to those around you.
💜 Every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a difference. Let’s work together to make the holiday season a brighter one for everyone.
Here’s something that no one thinks of, we all need to find a way to reach out to those who are alone without family or friends, especially during the holidays. There are many out there that fit in this category. I know this to be true because I am one of them. I’ll be 64 in January 2025, my husband passed away in October 2023. I have no family or real friends around me. I struggle daily with my health and loneliness and sadness. Even my “church family” is distant unless I miss a Sunday. Since my husband passed I’ve also lost my beloved brother and it just hasn’t been a good year at all. I’m working on finding others alone to reach out to, especially during the holidays so they know they are not forgotten and that someone cares and understands how they feel. I love honest med and hope that some day I can order a lot of bed pads and no rinse body wash and shampoo, and some other things for myself, but my income is a meager social security income yet I’m grateful I have that. God bless everyone who reads this and opens your heart year round.
Hello EJ,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with such honesty and vulnerability. It truly resonates with the core message of this post. It’s so important to remember those who are experiencing loneliness, especially during the holidays. I’m deeply sorry for the loss of your husband and brother; it sounds like you’ve been through an incredibly difficult time. Your desire to reach out to others who are also alone is truly inspiring. Perhaps there are local community groups or senior centers in your area where you could connect with others who share similar experiences? Even small connections can make a big difference. We at HonestMed, appreciate you being part of our community, and we’re sending you strength and warm wishes.
